What are good zip codes to live in around the Fort Benning/Columbus GA area?

Were relocating to Fort Benning next March and are only staying for a year. Where are good areas to live? We have a 2 yr old and my husband is a Marine working on base. He is there now looking around and so far we have heard not to go south of exit 10..... We also need a garage. Were moving from Fort Knox. I need some input from military/ex military that have lived there before and worked on base. Thanks
