What must I do to play zone 1 DVD's in zone 2 without needing to change the player settings every time?

I am using Windows Media Player and is able to play zone 2 DVD's perfectly. However for zone 1 DVD's I need to change the region of the player to zone 1. I have done this before and it worked fine, but the big problem is that it only allows me to change it 4 times and I have already changed it twice!! Is the problem with WMP itself or is it with the DVD drive (Acer DVD-r/rw)? If its WMP, is there software I can download that allows for unlimited multizoning? Or do I need a whole new DVD-rom?
