What is wrong with the air conditioning in my jeep?

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. About a month ago I started back using the ac due to the heat. I realized that the air only blows out from the top( as if I had it switched on defrost). The air is cold, it just doesn't come through the vents. Any suggestions?
